2018 Planets Information
This Page gives you background information about the Planets in 2018.
And if you want to see charts and tables for 2018?: And in addition to this Planets 2018 page, please refer to the dedicated page for the astrology charts and tables of 2018 I hope these website pages will prove to be a useful and supportive resource to all for understanding the astrology of their Destiny and using this for their Healing and Empowerment through 2018. Which Zodiac? Note that my astrology combines and encompasses both western astrology and vedic astrology. Western astrology uses the Tropical Zodiac which is based on the position of the Sun at the first day of Spring each year, and being Sun-sign based, it depicts our egoic psychological self; and, at its best, Western astrology is wonderfully psychodynamic, and I also offer western Evolutionary Astrology.

Jupiter in 2018
Jupiter has been transiting through Vedic Libra from 12.9.2017, bringing his enlargement, purpose and blessing to the area of life represented by libra in your Vedic birth chart.
So, for example, if Libra is your 4th House, you could have a beneficial move of home and or do loads of home beauty and improvements.
Jupiter in Libra brings general growth in relationships and creativity.
Jupiter in Vedic Libra is opposition Uranus in Vedic Ariess: and so for Aries and Libra people, this can mean sudden expansion. Uranus is Retrograde at the start of 2018, but soon goes direct, so watch out for, be open to Inspiration and Revolution, and sudden forward impetus to burst out of your prison walls, tear up your tramlines, and move forward in the realization of that special talent your soul chose for you to work to manifest and express yourself in this lifetime!
January 15th : Jupiter sextile Pluto.
Jupiter moves from Vedic Libra to Vedic Scorpio on October 11th, 2018. There is therefore a big transition in Jupiter’s manifestation from the idealism and beauty of Libra, to the hurt secretiveness and aggression of Scorpio.

Saturn in 2018
So, 2018 starts with Saturn, maybe Chief Lord of our Karma, at 7 deg Vedic Sagittarius (1 deg Western Capricorn).
Saturn reaches 17 deg Vedic Sagittarius by end 2018 and Saturn transits through Jupiter’s sign of Sagittarius until mid-2022.
Saturn is contractive. Sagittarius is expansive, so all the while we will be encouraged (or pressurised) to find working balance between expansion and contraction, and get the containers and structures right in our consciousness and in all the areas of our life, especially the area of our life defined by the House that Sagittarius is in our Vedic birth chart.
Saturn’s energy demands of us patience and hard work and fulfilling our karmic responsibilities. His reward is either grim reaping or golden reaping, depending on how we fulfill his demands.
Negatively, he’s cementing ourselves into our blocks, limitations and blinkers – not to mention our fears!
Saturn entered Vedic Sagittarius on 26th October 2017, passing through the immaterial, uncertain, confidence-lacking but potentially inspirational Gandanta Zone that is at 4 deg either side of the junction of the transition points from Vedic Water Signs to Vedic Fires Signs, also entering therefore the 19th Nakshatra: Mula.
Saturn in Mula Nakshatra:
Now, Mula is ruled over by the Dark Goddess, Niritti.
And The energies of Saturn and Niritti couldn’t be much more different!
And so the dance of the Dark Goddess demands that we smash Saturn blocks that we should no longer cling it.
Whereas, at the same time Saturn is still demanding of you that you obey his hard laws.
What a difficult conflicting demand.
But Vedic astrology is Tantric. It is all about the achievement of enlightened perception by the reconciliation of apparent opposites.
So, if we can get it together and have the needed authenticity and courage, Saturn’s entry into Mula is a time where we can ride two very different horses at once: diligence and structure, coupled with inspirational Death and rebirth!
Ashtama Shani - This applies if Saturn transits 8th House from Moon in your birth chart: Saturn is transiting Vedic Sagittarius in the year ahead. If Vedic Sagittarius is the 8th from the House occupied by the Moon in your birth chart, this will be Ashtama Shani: Saturn transits 8th House from Moon, and you really do need to know what this means and how to handle it! Get a Reading. You need to hear how to handle Saturn’s transit of your 22nd Drekkana at this time.
Sade Sate: This applies if Saturn is transiting the sign before your Moon Sign, the sign occupied by your Moon, and the sign after your Moon: As I said above, Saturn is transiting Vedic Sagittarius in the year ahead. If your Moon is in Vedic Sagittarius in your Vedic Birth Chart, well, you are in the middle of Sade Sate and you really do need to know what that means and how to handle it, and it is such a good idea to get a timetable of your Sade Sate energies from me to see: when are the really difficult times? when are the phases of ‘fool’s paradise times’? what does Sade Sate mean for you individually and particularly in your life? It’s a time of separations and despondence and being cut off from God’s grace with the divine purpose of thus being made to see yourself as you really are, and do something about that.
If your Moon in your birth chart is in Vedic Scorpio, then you are now entering the final two and a half years of Sade Sate. Learn how to handle that.
If your Moon in your birth chart is in Vedic Capricorn, then you are starting the seven and a half years Sade Sate, and you would do very well indeed to get a reading of guidance about that!!!
Saturn Return: And note that if you are around age 28 or 59, you will be having your SATURN RETURN, and I can give you great guidance about that that means.
Planets in Vedic Gemini? N.B. With Saturn transiting in Vedic Sagittarius all 2018, it’s going to be a hard, tough year for those people with Sun or Moon, and other planets, in Vedic Gemini in their birth chart. The Nakshatras affected by this are Mrigashira, Ardra and Punarvasu.

Uranus in 2018
For some people, Uranus will be the star performer in January 2018.
After a long Retrograde, Uranus is on station at the start of the month. This is at 0 degrees Vedic Aries, using the Sidereal Zodiac and at 24 Western Aries using the Tropical Zodiac. He turns Direct on January 3rd.
Uranus is a God of Change. He is a Lord of Karma. If you have a planet in this area or opposite it – especially if that planet’s your Sun or Moon (or both!!!), this means driven revolution: the chance to manifest your own very special spark.
Or for youngsters around age 21, they will be having their revolutionary ‘Uranus Square: Transiting Uranus is square to their natal Uranus, and there could be a big move of house or career. And of course, there’s the Uranus Opposition and other Square to watch out for too in your predictive astrology!
But remember, Uranus’ energy is driven and inhuman, so you have to be careful of how you treat yourself and others.
Uranus is inspiration, and the inspiration can be sudden like lightning strike, or intermittent like beams of sunlight filtering through the branches of the trees.
Be careful not to stay in your own very special Saturn blocked scripts, tramlines or alternatively prison - and so be careful not to fail to express the inspiration Uranus is favouring you with. If you don’t express it, your life will be left incomplete and bereft.
Uranus to Moon brings up Mother issues and move of house.
Note that the last time a Uranus’ transit into Aries occurred in the past meant the Burning of the Reichstag, the rise of Adolph Hitler, and the Second World War.
Note importantly that in terms of Western Evolutionary Astrology, Uranus is the Past Life Trauma indicator for you. So the House and sign that Uranus occupies in your Western Astrology birth chart is a very special indicator for unresolved issues from past life.
So, note that you will be offered the chance for resolving these unresolved Past Life deficits by experiencing Trauma in the relevant area of life in this lifetime.
So, for example, if you have Uranus in your 11th House in your Western birth chart, then it will be in Groups especially in this life that you will experience Trauma, and you will experience this with the divine intention being of offering you a chance for healing unresolved issues from past life relating to Groups. You will need to experience, suffer, develop perception and bring healing into the way you relate to groups!

Neptune in 2018
Neptune starts 2018 at 12 Western Pisces (tropical zodiac), which is 17 deg Aquarius (Vedic sidereal zodiac). And in terms of the Nakshatras or Vedic Lunar Signs, Neptune is transiting in Shatabishak Nakshatra.
Now, Shatabishak is the 24th Nakshatra, and Shatabishak’s focus is quite mystical, and certainly all about the person healing themselves and then being able to heal others. Intuitive Healers are being created here!
Note that Neptune transits are incredibly powerful, and so for example, if you have this Neptune transit opposition your natal Venus, you will be experiencing yearning for ideal beauty. You will be yearning for a beauty too ideal ever to be actually found! You will be more sensitive, visionary, artistic and mystical. But the downside is that you might experience loss (or even delusion, if you are that way inclined). And you’ll need to beware being too critical when reality never matches up to your sense of and your craving for the impossible ideal!!!

Pluto in 2018
Pluto started 2018 at 18 degrees western Capricorn. This is 24 degrees Vedic Sagittarius, and is in PurvaAshadha Nakshatra. An important dimension of Pluto’s placement is that Saturn is steadily transiting towards him. Saturn is now at 10 deg Vedic Sagittarius, only 15 degrees away now.
And what is the gathering might and power of this Saturn-Pluto phenomenon?
Well, I think it is about ‘held power’. And people with this conjunction in their birth chart can be very formidably determined.

The Saturn Pluto Conjunction 2018:
An important dimension of Pluto’s placement at this time is the ever-closing ‘Saturn Pluto’ conjunction.
This is a vast energy-gathering affecting the world generally, in that Saturn is now steadily transiting towards Pluto in the heavens.
Children born from now until 2010 will have this conjunction in this birth chart. And this will be a huge part of their Karmic Destiny and psychology.
Saturn is now at 10 deg Vedic Sagittarius, so, Saturn is only 10 degrees away from Pluto now, and closing!
They will form exact conjunction with each other on 12th January, 2020. This will be at 28 Vedic Sagittarius, which is 22 western Capricorn. Note that this immensely powerful conjunction is also conjunct Ketu/South Node, Jupiter, Sun and Mercury, all of them in Vedic Sagittarius as well!!
You can see the chart for the exact moment of this Saturn Pluto Conjunction at the foot of my website page: https://www.starwheelastrology.com/2018-astrology.html
And, so, what is the nature of the great gathering might and power: this vast time-bomb Saturn-Pluto phenomenon?
Well, I think the Saturn Pluto phenomenon is all about ‘held power’. And, negatively, people with this conjunction in their birth chart can be very formidably determined, and just not able to open to the flow, nor release their rigidly-held life prisons, and they imprison others as well (e.g. in ideological prison of political correctness, or in prison of inappropriate geographical location, just to name two examples).
But positively what is it? Well I think it can be the karmic ability to combine power with structure, to use strategy and containment for achieving powerful wonderful death and rebirth transformation.
Saturn does represent our central karmic bedrock, our especial blocks. The people who use their Saturn Pluto conjunction negatively just don’t know how to let their transformation explode or flow. They need to bring in healing – easier said than done! And they need to find empowerment. I know all about how very hard all this is: I have natal Saturn conjunct Venus.
When Saturn Pluto people are using this conjunction negatively, they have their grim formulae! And they will impose it on others!
But, remember, Saturn’s energy is also positive of course. Yes, he demands of us patience, endurance, ability to take the hard work, the provision of suffering circumstances and scripts so that we can make the needed spiritual and karmic progress in this life, and achieve Saturn’s offered Golden Reaping
Pluto? Well, Pluto on the other hand is the seed and essence of our own power. Pluto is our potential for needed death and rebirth. Pluto smashes the blocks put there by our karmic path and by our families and by ourselves: blocks to our fulfilment.
But when it’s a case of Pluto’s conjunction with Saturn, obviously, Pluto is our locked-up power! Pluto is our caged Power, Pluto is our denied Power!!! Pluto is held in prison by Saturn, and this is a power we cannot access. And so, it’s power denied; it is power that festers; it is power that imprisons. We are talking here of Pluto imprisoned and blocked by Saturn is our own power that we are afraid to access.
Pluto’s power is needed and beneficial, but it can be terribly, terribly dangerous if not allowed to express itself properly, and so can be used as ‘power over’. This caging of Pluto so that his power suppurates and leaks out of the denied corners of our life-prison can so disempower ourself – or others! And we can FEAR our own power. And note that Pluto denied, is a Pluto that FESTERS.
BUT on the other hand, we do see that if we have a case of ‘Our Pluto freed’, and our Pluto ethically perceived, understood and handled, then such a Pluto is actually our channel to having the intuition, insight and expression of power, that is needed so that we can actually become our Divine Nature.

Chiron The Wounded Healer in 2018
Chiron the needed and wonderful Wounded Healer in our lives Chiron is at 25 western Pisces (Tropical Zodiac), which is 1 degrees Pisces in the Sidereal Zodiac of Vedic Astrology.
A really important event to be aware of is your Chiron Return. Chiron takes years to orbit the Sun, and so when you are aged about fifty you experience your Chiron Return. Chiron depicts our ‘existential wound’, in the healing of which we may become the Healer of others. Your Chiron Return precipitates a Healing crisis, often a crisis of meaning as well as health where you have to re-evaluate and heal your life. If you were unwilling to take the needed healing steps at the time of your Uranus opposition at about the age of forty, then the Chiron Return will be all the more difficult. Often, health problems are triggered by one's unwillingness to confront or honour our genuine feelings and true nature.

The Nodes of the Moon: Rahu North Node and Ketu South Node in 2018

Rahu - North Node: entered Vedic Cancer at the time of the violent August 2017 Eclipses, and in so doing Rahu went then went through another of the three Gandanta Zones: the Leo to Cancer Gandanta Zone (Rahu’s motion is always retrograde).
This was at around the same time as Saturn (above) went through the Scorpio to Sagittarius Gandanta zone, thus increasing the feeling of insecurity and almost ‘drowning.
And, as described above, this is at the same time as Uranus is transiting in the Pisces-Aries Gandanta Zone, so this can make us feel weak and insecure if we have planets in these three Gandanta Zones, and yet we can hopefully find great Meaning and Inspiration at this weird time, if we know how to look for it and identify it.
Rahu’s energy is driven, and even more so if, Cancer is your 1st House! And Rahu can be surrounded with the smoke of delusion. We do need his energy to push forward to realize our incarnational goals in this lifetime, but we must not fall into the abyssal traps he opens up.
So, if Cancer is your first house, you will be driven feverishly to express yourself, whereas Ketu, always opposite Rahu, might spiritualize your 7th house of relationship, or even blow it open.
And if, for example, Rahu is transiting over your Sun at this time, you will be driven to express yourself more powerfully and successfully in all areas.
Because Rahu is transiting in the sign of Cancer, we will have quite a driven desire for emotional security in 2018, and we need to honour this.

Ketu - South Node: And beware that Ketu transiting through Capricorn could impair your commitment to your material security. Beware Pollyanna or Drain.
And here’s another example: if Capricorn is your 4th House, transit there could make your home more spiritual, but you would need to be aware of the Ketu’s risk of lack of confidence about your roots of life.
The Nodes remain in the Vedic Cancer / Capricorn axis until 7th March 2019. Then, the Node change sign to the Gemini – Sagittarius axis, transiting there for about eighteen months, and following this change in the nodal axis, it has meant in the past that a booming economy gets replaced by an economic collapse.

Planets Square the Nodal Axis:
Note that both Jupiter and Mars are square the Nodal Axis at this time. This means that any child born around this time will have the energy qualities and scripts of those two planets as Karmic missed steps: qualities they did not get right last life-time: qualities with a special demand to get right this lifetime.

Kal Sarpa Yoga: Talking of the Nodes of the Moon, do note that the Kal Sarpa Yoga is in force in January 2018. Realistically, the Kal Sarpa Yoga energy should be said to be extant in the Heavens until 15th February.
Kal Sarpa Yoga is when all the Vedic planets are to one side of the chart between Rahu/North node and Ketu/South Node.
This can create divisiveness and perpetual phases of insecurity and fluctuation. This is partly because for half of each month the Moon is within the other planets, and for the other part of each month the Moon is out in the untenanted half of the chart, meaning that the Moon is alone and unsupported in the Heavens, giving rise to obsessions, fears, doubts etc.
Note that Kal Sarpa Yoga creates a very big spiritual and consciousness- and also relationships-challenge in the chart of a child born at the time of Kal Sarpa Yoga in the heavens. But of course, we are born to rise to the occasion of healing and empowering in the areas of our great spiritual challenges.

The Nodes of the Moon: Rahu/Ketu Transiting the Nakshatras in 2018

Nodes transiting Nakshatras (The 27 Lunar Signs of Vedic Astrology):
Rahu, always retrograde using Mean Nodes, transited into the end of Capricorn at the time of the August 2017 Eclipses.
Rahu in Nx 9Ashlesha: and thus, in terms of the 27 Nakshatras, the 27 Lunar Signs of Vedic Astrology, Rahu entered the 9th Nakshatra Ashlesha (starting off at the end of Ashlesha and Cancer: the 4 degrees of Gandanta Zone).
Ashlesha is serpent energy, so this is huge for those with planets in Ashlesha. Optimally it means their being motivated to embrace their depths in death and rebirth change of consciousness.

Rahu in Nx 8 Pushyami: Then, when Rahu has finished transiting through Ashlesha, Rahu will move into the 8th Nakshatra Pushyami Nakshatra on 27.4.2018.
